Bajrang Punia clarified rumours of denying samples to NADA with a post. It read, “I want to clarify the news about me being asked to take a dope test!!! I never refused to give my sample to NADA officials, I requested them to first answer me as to what action they took on the expired kit they brought to take my sample, and then take my dope test.” Notably, the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) provisionally suspended Tokyo Olympics medallist Bajrang Punia ahead of his Paris Olympics trials.Â

With this, the 22-year-old Polish player secured her third title of the season and became the youngest player to reach 20 titles since Caroline Wozniacki in 2012.
