The 2024 NBA Playoffs is approaching its Conference semi-finals stage with the defending champions, Denver Nuggets, scheduled to face Anthony Edwards’ Minnesota Timberwolves while Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks are set to square off against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Oklahoma City Thunder in the West semis. On Friday, the Mavericks eliminated the LA Clippers 4-2 in the first round and Lakers star forward LeBron James was in awe of his former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Kyrie Irving.

After losing the first game of the first-round playoff series against the Clippers, Dallas won two back-to-back games to take a 2-1 lead. While the Clippers leveled the series 2-2 in Game 4, the Mavericks clinched the qualification by winning the next two games and closing the series in Game 6.
In Game 6 at the American Airlines Center on Friday, the Mavericks defeated Kawhi Leonard-less Clippers 114-101 as Kyrie Irving (30 points) and Luka Doncic (28 points) combined for 58 points, 17 assists, and 13 rebounds. The 2016 NBA champion with the Cavaliers, Kyrie Irving was on fire and extended his closeout games win record to 13-0.

LeBron James appreciates Kyrie Irving’s sensational performance against Clippers
Kyrie Irving was sensational in the closeout game against the Clippers as he scored 30 points on shooting 11-19 from the field while he also made 5 three-pointers and registered 2 steals and blocks each. The 32-year-old’s closeout game performance garnered reactions from the record 20-time NBA All-Star, LeBron James, who took to X and appreciated his former Cavaliers teammate.
