In a series of continuing rap beef between two rap stars Kendrick Lamar and Drake, the former dropped Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan’s name in his newly released rap “Not Like Us,” thus escalating the highly publicized rap beef with Drake. The two have been engaging in a serious rap battle against each other which dates back to a decade.
The feud between both rappers started in 2013 when Lamar released a song “Control” by Big Sean, where he dissed Drake and various other rappers by using the verse that he wanted to murder them. After a decade in 2023, J. Cole and Drake released the track “First Person Shooter” where they had put Lamar at number three in the “big three” rappers list, below Cole and Drake.
The feud then intensified with Lamar coming out with a song “Like That” where he rejected being at number three. Following that, Cole responded to Lamar with the track “7 Minute Drill” and Drake with the songs “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Their conflict continues till now with both of them engaging in serious rap beef.
In Lamar’s newly released album, he referenced DeRozan with a line, “I’m glad DeRoz’ came home, you’ll didn’t deserve him neither,” thus pointing out Chicago Bulls’ Point forward decision to leave Toronto Raptors and joining Bulls. DeMar was traded from Toronto to San Antonio in 2018 and then to the Chicago Bulls in 2021.
Next season will be my 16th: DeRozan on his NBA future
Chicago Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan is still confident to make it to the 16th season of the NBA after their crushing defeat to the Miami Heat (112-91) in the Eastern Conference Play-in Tournament game which ended their season. DeRozan (34), who is set to become a free agent talked about his future and was hopeful for another productive season.
The forward accumulated a good score with an average of 24.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.1 steals per contest, in the current season.
