The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule for a white-ball tour to Sri Lanka in late July and early August. The Indian cricket governing body confirmed the schedule of the upcoming series which would consist of three T20Is and three ODIs. This will be the first tour where the Men in Blue will play under their new coach Gautam Gambhir, who replaced Rahul Dravid after the T20 World Cup 2024.
The Indian team is currently in Zimbabwe to participate in the five-match T20I series. This was India’s first assignment after their T20 World Cup 2024 triumph, where the side is being led by young batter Shubman Gill as most senior players have been rested. However, it seems that the Sri Lanka tour will see the return of the World Cup players back to action. According to the SLC, the tour will consist of three T20Is getting underway on July 26. The Indian team will reach Sri Lanka on July 22 for the same.
Following its completion, the ODI series will begin on August 1 and will come to an end on August 7, at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
