KKR approaches Rahul Dravid for mentorship role after Gambhir’s exit: Reports

In a big update which has been doing rounds on social media, Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 title winners, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have approached T20 World Cup 2024 winning Head Coach, Rahul Dravid for the mentor’s post ahead of the next season. As reported by News18 Bangla, the outgoing head coach has been approached with Gautam Gambhir vacating the mentor’s position.

However, the franchise hasn’t shared any official confirmation on the same, these reports surface with the three-time IPL champions shooting a farewell post for their former skipper-turned mentor Gautam Gambhir. Moreover, Gautam Gambhir is set to take over the India Head Coach reigns from Dravid, whose tenure ended with the T20 World Cup 2024 triumph in Barbados, just a few days ago.

Former India Head Coach, Rahul Dravid received a hero-like welcome at a local cricket academy in Bengaluru after he guided the team to the much-awaited T20 World Cup 2024 title triumph. In the video going viral, young, budding talents and the coaching staff of the academy paid tribute to the former coach while raising the bat.

Under Dravid’s tenure as Head Coach, India became the No. 1 team in both Tests and ODIs with the T20 World Cup title victory coming as the icing on the cake as it was his last assignment with Team India. He also led India at the World Championship Final and ODI World Cup Final in 2023, but did not taste victory with the Rohit Sharma-led side.
